Project story
Rockmoor
At Rockmoor, Kerr’s finish carpentry forms part of the restoration of a Georgian-style brick house dating to around 1940 in Austin’s Tarrytown neighborhood. The home’s traditional architecture provides the setting for detailed wood paneling and interior trim.
Our scope included full-height wood paneling, detailed window surrounds, and wainscoting in smaller rooms. Recessed panels and narrow moldings frame the natural grain, while the rails and stiles align around windows and openings. Careful fitting connects the paneling with the rest of the interior trim.
The renovation team included general contractor Koch McIntyre and Cuppett Kilpatrick as architects and interior designers. We coordinated the installation with their room layouts and finish details. The emphasis was on consistent proportions and profiles, allowing the new millwork to sit comfortably within the home’s traditional character.
